How Can Therapy Help?
Self-esteem is a product of many things. Our life experiences shape who we believe we are and how we fit in the world. Often times, our sense of self-esteem comes from early experiences, when our brain is developing. Our first relationships with caregivers, family, and peers teach us how others see us (and therefore how we should see ourself). Unfortunately, many of us grow up in imperfect environment. And many early environments wire our brain to constantly look out the negatives, take on an unnecessary amount of guilt, and feel like we have to be perfect to matter.

Therapy can help you to understand the experiences that have shaped your idea of yourself...and build a new one.
